# Introduction In this guide, you’ll learn… - What is an Activity Set? - How to Configure an Activity Set - Managing Activity Sets * * * # Activity Sets Activity Sets allow you to define a structured list of activities for different occurrences of an event. With Activity Sets, you can create and manage reusable configurations tailored to specific event types. This helps in simplifying the process of setting up recurring events with varying activity requirements. Using Activity Sets, you can: - Add multiple **positions** to represent occurrences of an event. - Define activities for each position, specifying their **duration** , **cooldowns** , and **configurations**. - Customise activities with **segments** to cater to different player groups or event goals. - Adjust behaviour for how positions are applied across event occurrences, either by **rotating positions** or repeating the last position. Perform the following steps to create activity sets: 1. Open **Hawk** and go to the **Events** menu in the left-hand navigation panel. 2. Select the new submenu item called **Activity Sets**. 3. Click on the **+ Create Activity Set** button at the top-right corner of the page. 4. Enter a **Name** for the activity set (this must be unique). 5. Use the dropdown labeled **"Behaviour for remaining occurrences"** to define what happens after the last position: 6. Select an **Event Type** from the dropdown menu. 7. Click **+ Add Position** to add a position to the activity set. 8. Positions are listed in order, starting from Position 1, and are numbered from top to bottom. 9. Repeat this step to add additional positions (at least two positions are required to save the activity set). 10. Within each position, click **+ Add Activity** to add activities. 11. Configure the activity details: 12. Ensure that every position has at least one activity before saving the set. 13. Configure Segments for Activities: Within an activity, click **+ Segment** to add segments. 14. For each segment: 15. If needed, delete segments using the trash icon. 16. For each position, the system displays: ## **Edit, Clone, or Delete Positions** 1. **Edit Positions** : Expand or collapse each position by clicking on its header. 2. **Delete Positions** : Click the trash icon next to a position to delete it. The position numbers for the remaining positions will automatically update. 3. **Clone Positions** : Click the copy icon next to a position to duplicate it. The cloned position will appear at the bottom of the list. ## **Save and Validate the Activity Set** Ensure the activity set meets all validation rules: 1. At least two positions are required. 2. Click **Save** to finalise the activity set. ## **Manage Existing Activity Sets** 1. On the **Activity Sets** list view, you’ll see the following fields for each activity set: 2. From this list, you can: ## **Change Event Type (Optional)** 1. If you need to change the **Event Type** for an activity set, select a new event type from the dropdown. 2. A confirmation popup will appear: **“Are you sure you want to change the event type? All positions created in this parameter set will be cleared.”** 3. If confirmed, all existing positions will be cleared, and you can add new positions for the selected event type.

# **Introduction** In this guide, you’ll learn… - What are various types of Activities you can configure on LiveOps? - Configuring Activities for an Event in Hawk **Table of Contents** * * * # What are Activities? Activities are the building blocks of an event, they define what players actually do during the event. Whether it’s completing objectives, competing in races, or climbing leaderboards, each activity type brings a different kind of challenge or reward. Activities are a great way to shape the player experience and keep things engaging. # Configuring Activities In this section, you will learn to configure various activities for an event. When configuring activities, it's essential to define key parameters like name, priority, status. You can configure the following activities: - Objectives: Refer to [this page for Objectives Configuration](https://tripledotstudios.atlassian.net/wiki/x/KwDX9Q). - Collection Sets: You will find the relevant steps to configure [Collection Sets here](https://tripledotstudios.atlassian.net/wiki/x/VgDL9Q). - Dynamic Races: [Refer to this page for details](https://tripledotstudios.atlassian.net/wiki/x/MwDa9Q). - Client Leaderboards: Refer to this page for [Client Leaderboards Configuration](https://tripledotstudios.atlassian.net/wiki/x/PQDa9Q). - Leagues: [Find the details here](https://tripledotstudios.atlassian.net/wiki/x/MYDS9Q). # Using your Activities in Events Once your activity has been configured, you can use it in an Event Configuration. To do so: 1. Navigate to **Events \> Configuration** , and in the upper right corner click **[+Add Event Config]** 2. Specify all the configurations (event name, dates, priority…), and under **Event Type** select the relevant event type. 3. Click then **[+Add Activity]** to select your activity. 4. From the **Timeline** dropdown, select the relevant option. If you select the custom option, additional fields to specify the start and end date and time for the event appear. ![image-20250612-111820.png](https://tripledotstudios.atlassian.net/wiki/download/thumbnails/3652321290/image-20250612-111820.png?version=1&modificationDate=1749727102255&cacheVersion=1&api=v2&width=777&height=498) 1. Enable the **Limit participation window** toggle, if you want to limit the participation time for the players. 2. Specify the time of participation in days, hours, and minutes. The players will be served the event only until the specified participation time if the **Limit participation window** toggle is enabled irrespective of the remaining event or custom duration. 1. From the **Activity Type** dropdown, select the relevant activity type. ![image-20240516-144313.png](https://tripledotstudios.atlassian.net/wiki/download/thumbnails/3652321290/image-20240516-144313.png?version=1&modificationDate=1726589072955&cacheVersion=1&api=v2&width=815&height=443) 1. On Activity Configuration, select your activity. 2. You can add different activities for other segments by using the **[+Segment]** button. If a user **changes segments** _(.e.g from slow to fast)_ during an activity but remains **in the same segment for which an event** **was configured** , the same activity should **still be available** for them until it ends. The exception to this rule is the activity type: **Race**. For Races, the activity configuration will be always served based on the player's current segments (so within the same event, players can change their race configuration for the one of a different segment)

**Activity and Parameter Configuration** ### **Configuring Parameters** When setting parameters for your event, you can either: 1. **Select a Parameter Set** : Choose a pre-defined parameter set to manage consistent configurations across all occurrences of the event. 2. **Define Parameters Directly in the Event** : Specify parameter values directly in the event for more customisation. #### Selecting a Parameter Set For **parameters** , you can select a parameter set, which allows you to manage configurations across different occurrences of the event in a structured manner. Follow the steps in the [Parameter Sets](https://tripledotstudios.atlassian.net/wiki/x/agDR9Q) and [Activity Sets](https://tripledotstudios.atlassian.net/wiki/x/DQDS9Q) pages for more details. #### Defining Parameters Directly in the Event You can define specific parameter values directly in the event itself. The parameters section comprises a list of parameters with Name, Key, Value, Type, and Default Value fields already defined in the event type configuration. You can modify the pre-defined **Value** fields however the rest of the fields can only be modified at the time of configuring the event type. ![image-20250325-133400.png](https://tripledotstudios.atlassian.net/wiki/download/thumbnails/4124311574/image-20250325-133400.png?version=1&modificationDate=1742909645879&cacheVersion=1&api=v2&width=777&height=420) ### **Configuring Activities** When configuring activities for your event, you can either: 1. **Select an Activity Set** : Use a pre-defined activity set to simplify the process by reusing a standard list of activities. 2. **Define Activities Directly in the Event** : Create and configure activities directly within the event if custom configurations are required. #### **Selecting an Activity Set** For **activities** , you can select an activity set, which allows you to manage configurations across different occurrences of the event in a structured manner. Follow the steps in the [Configuring Parameter Set](https://tripledotstudios.atlassian.net/wiki/x/agDR9Q) and Activity Set pages for more details. #### **Defining Activities Directly in the Event** You can define specific activity values directly in the event itself. Follow the steps in this section for more details. 1. From the dropdown, select the _ **Same across all occurrences** _ option. ![image-20250113-160309.png](https://tripledotstudios.atlassian.net/wiki/download/thumbnails/4124311574/image-20250113-160309.png?version=1&modificationDate=1742818064429&cacheVersion=1&api=v2&width=777&height=424) A new section will open where you will be able to specify: - **Duration** : the entire duration of the activity. Based on this duration the recurrence configuration for the events will occur. - The **Activity configuration per segment** : Click **[+Segment]** to add a segment. - Select the relevant segment from the dropdown and click **[+Add].** - Click **[+Segment]** to add more segments. Each segment can be served a different activity configuration but the timeline will be the same for all segments.  However, please note that the segments (tabs) are **sorted by priority** within the activity. If player qualifies for more than one segment, they will have configuration served from their segment with highest priority - **Activity Type:** Select the relevant activity from the dropdown. See the [Configuring Activities](https://tripledotstudios.atlassian.net/wiki/x/CgCy2Q) page for more information. - **Activity Configuration** : Select the available configuration for the activity. - Click **[+Add Activity]** to add more activity configurations. Adding more than one of the activities allows you to specify the cooldown period between consecutive activities. The event type can restrict the number of activities that can be added. Once the limit from the event type is reached, the button becomes disabled. - Specify the cooldown time period between activities. This field is configurable only with more than one activities. - Review the Duration Summary **Players are assigned to a segment during the preload, and even if they change segments, they will stay in the previously assigned event until the next preload of an event!** Recurrence configuration becomes available only after setting the durations for all activities. After you’ve configured the activity durations, scroll back up to enable and customise the recurrence settings.
