Introduction

Asset Bundles are collections of items, such as images, game collectibles, sounds and animations that can be used in Journeys, Hawk Events and other features.

In this guide you’ll learn how to upload Asset Bundles to Game Server and where to use them.

Configuring Asset Bundles

  1. In your game, navigate to Asset Bundles. In this page, you’ll be able to see the existing bundles, their type, status, availability and where they’re being used, as well as the rules if any. To create a new asset bundle, click [+New]. You can copy an existing asset bundle using the blue duplicate button (blue star)

  2. Give your asset a unique key name, assign a status and availability. You can also add labels to better group your keys.

  3. Then, select the asset type. This field determines in which drop-downs in Game Server will this asset be available. If you don’t select anything, the asset will be available in all drop-downs.

  4. In Active from and Active To , select the date and time where the asset will be active.

Asset bundles are now sent only if both the status is Active and the current time falls within the Active From/To interval. Ensure that the asset bundles are correctly configured with both an active interval and Active status for them to be available during the intended period.

Configuring Bundles

The next step is Adding the Bundles into Game Server. To do so, read the instructions below:

  1. On the same screen, click [+Add Bundles]. A new screen will open.

  2. Then, add a name for the bundle, assign a priority and add the CDN URLs. Rules can be assigned if necessary.

  3. Click [Confirm] when you’re done.

  4. Under Bundles, the existing bundles will appear. Click [Save] on the upper right corner to save your new Asset Key.

About CDN URLs

  • CDN URLs are generated by the Game Teams, and the owner of the process differs from team to team.

  • Game Server only validates the format of the URL, but does not validate its contents.
