What are Daily Challenges?

Daily Challenge is a feature that offers players new goals to achieve on a daily basis, such as collecting special items in the game. Daily Challenges are independent of the existing base game, and they are triggered on a daily basis, with a goal to improve short and mid-term retention.

Configuring Generic Daily Challenges

Uploading your Daily Challenge File

In order to configure your Daily Challenge, first you need to upload the JSON/CSV file with your level configuration. To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to your Game and then, select Files. To upload a new file, click [+New] on the upper right side of the screen. In this page you’ll be able to see the currently uploaded files, their name, availability and where are they being used.

  2. Give your file a name. In the dropdown, select “ Daily Challenge Levels ”, and choose the file to upload. When you’re done click [Save].

It is not possible to change a file that is being used in a Daily Challenge. If you’d like to change the levels in an existing Daily Challenge, please re-upload a new file and select it in the Daily Challenge.

Supported file types

  • Currently, the only file types supported are JSON and CSV files.

  • Please note that the files are not validated by Game Server. The files are uploaded to a CDN from Game Server, and that CDN link is sent to the Client.

Configuring Daily Challenges

  1. Navigate to Daily Challenges > Events , and click [+New]. In this page, you’ll be able to see as well the existing Events with their name, status, availability, priority and the month they are going to be used. You can use blue duplicate button (blue star) to copy the settings to a new Journey, or the yellow button (blue star) to archive it.

  2. Fill in the name, status, availability and priority of your event. You can also add labels to easily track and filter your events.

  3. Fill in the start date in local time for your Daily Challenge Event. Under Month , select from the calendar the month for your Event. As a last step, s elect your Daily Challenge Levels file from the ones uploaded before.

Setting up the Start Date of your Event

Start for client uses the local time of the player’s device.

  1. Optionally, you can configure rules for your Event. To know more about Rules, read this guide, or use the User Guide button (blue star) in Game Server.

 

About Daily Challenges Availability

By default, players only receive the daily challenge for the month it has been configured. However, there is the possibility to send Daily Challenges of the last 12 months to the player. If the player started the game 3 months before, they will only receive the Daily Challenges of these 3 months.

To enable this feature, follow the steps below:

  1. In Game Server, navigate to Tools > Settings

  2. Then, select Admin, and in your game, type in the number of previous months you’d like to send Daily Challenges to players. When you’re done, click [Save]

The maximum number of months available is 12.

## About Daily Challenges Availability
