Introduction
In this guide, you’ll learn about…
Scenarios to add new positions with rotating positions and using last positions behaviour.
Scenarios when Parameter sets have different configuration then Activity sets and the position behaviour could be either rotating or last used position.
Detailed Scenarios for Adding New Positions to Live Parameter/Activity Sets
In recurring events, the ability to add new positions to an existing Parameter Set or Activity Set can significantly impact the event's behaviour across multiple occurrences. This section outlines the various scenarios and behaviours that occur when new positions are added to a live parameter or activity set.
The addition of new positions can either follow:
A rotating pattern, where the positions cycle in a set order,
or,
the last position behaviour, where the newly added position will continue to repeat until further modifications are made.

Sequence of Occurrences:
For the Parameter Set :
- The parameter set positions cycle through the configured positions:
Position 1 → Position 2 → Position 3 → Position 3 → Position 3 , and so on.
For the Activity Set :
The activity set initially follows the configured positions in sequence:
Position 1 → Position 2 → Position 3 → Position 4.When the configured positions are exhausted, Position 4 repeats for all subsequent occurrences.
Outcome:
Occurrences 1 to 3 :
Occurrence 4 :
Occurrences 5 onward :
Key Notes:
The Behaviour for Remaining Occurrences setting defines whether positions are rotated or the last position repeats.
This behaviour dynamically adjusts based on new additions to the parameter or activity sets.
New positions take effect immediately after addition, starting from the next occurrence that has not been finalised.
Parameter sets and activity sets operate independently, and their sequences may differ based on their respective configurations and positions.

# Detailed Scenarios for Adding New Positions to Live Parameter/Activity Sets
In recurring events, the ability to add new positions to an existing **Parameter Set** or **Activity Set** can significantly impact the event's behaviour across multiple occurrences. This section outlines the various scenarios and behaviours that occur when new positions are added to a live parameter or activity set.
The addition of new positions can either follow:
A **rotating** pattern, where the positions cycle in a set order,
or,
the **last position** behaviour, where the newly added position will continue to repeat until further modifications are made.
