Introduction

In this guide, you’ll learn…

  • What is Objective Activity Type?

  • Configuring Objectives

What are Objectives?

Objectives are activities in progression events, where player have goal/goals and targets to reach to get the reward

Configuring Objectives

The process of configuring objectives involves two steps, depending on the usage of an existing objective template or configuring a new one:

  1. Configuring an Objective Template (Mandatory)

  2. Specifying the Objective Details

Configuring an Objective Template

Request an Objective Template configuration to the Hawk team before proceeding. An Objective template is mandatory as without an objective template, an objective cannot be configured.

Specifying the Objective Details

The specifying the activity details

  1. In your game, navigate to Events > Objectives , and click [+Add Objective].

  2. Add a name to your Objective , select an availability (pre-live/live), and select one of the existing objective templates.
Alternatively, you can request a new objective template. See the Requesting a New Objective Template and/or a Goal Template. It is mandatory to select an objective template.

  3. Depending on the template selected, you will have the parameters that are established in the template.

  4. Then, click [+Add] next to Final Rewards in order to select the reward for completing the Objective. You can add as many rewards as you’d like to.

  5. The next step is adding the Objective Goals.
Objective goals are progress thresholds a player needs to complete to reach the final reward. Each of the goals has a mandatory target, optional rewards, and optional parameters that can help to make your goals different from each other (for example by using parameters that relate to difficulty or special tiles frequency drops).

  6. To do so, click [+Add Goal], and add a target and the rewards for completing them. You can add as many Objective Goals and rewards as you’d like with at least one goal as mandatory.

  7. Set the target value:

  8. Select the relevant Goal Template from the dropdown. (Optional). See the Activity Templates User Guide for more details.

  9. Add the relevant Rewards and Localisation keys if required. (optional).

  10. When you’re done, click [Save].

You can add multiple Objective Goals and rewards, but at least one goal is required.

The selectable rewards are Game Items. To create new ones, go to Game Server, navigate to your application and click [Game Items]

Selecting Objectives as an Activity

  • Users can select the activity type: "Objectives" while configuring an event.

  • Once selected, an Activity Configuration dropdown allows choosing from the configured objectives.

Requesting a New Objective Template and/or a Goal Template

For Objective and/or Goal Templates, you will have to request the Hawk team to configure these templates. See the Activity Templates User Guide for more details.

The definition of the parameters for these templates is a joint effort between Client Team, Business Analysts, and Product Managers. These templates comprise a list of parameters that the Client Development Team will receive from Hawk in JSON format.  Please agree on the parameters before requesting configuration of these Templates.
